Jean Ikenaga, a recent graduate of Benicia High in California and a Southern Utah signee representing Golden State Throwers, placed second in the women's 17-18 division hammer throw final with a lifetime-best performance of 151-4 (46.13m) in the sixth round at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Ikenaga helped Golden State Throwers sweep the top three spots and place five athletes in the top eight, all earning All-America recognition.
